This video was filmed and edited as an assignment for Jour 300 (Visual Storytelling). The assignment was to record on-location b-roll using professional videography techniques, such as the rule of third and centered composition. In the video, scholarship hall students enjoy their first semi-formal since COVID-19 started. Among the residents are freshman who missed out on their high school proms. The event was organized by the All Scholarship Hall Council, a student organization acting as a governing body for scholarship halls at KU.

I recorded and posted this video as a part of an assignment for Jour 211 (Audio/Video). I was required to create a slomo video that includes the following:

  • One gradual speed ramp (where the clip grows gradually slower or faster)
  • One abrupt speed change (where the clip instantly speeds or slows, but where the motion is uninterrupted)
  • One clip with audio left at normal speed (where the video gets slow or fast, but the audio stays the same.
  • One clip that reverses for 1-2 seconds and resumes, like instant replay. The action should be seamless (no jump cuts) at the speed changes (see demo video).
  • One clip with any type of time remapping/reverse/slow motion you want.
  • Music
  • Structure (beginning and end: beginnings have, at minimum, a title; endings, at minimum, a fade-out.
